September 18, 2019 — National Clean Energy Week (NCEW) today announced that Neil Chatterjee, chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), will address attendees at the Policy Makers Symposium, a centerpiece of the week’s events.
Chatterjee, who spoke at last year’s event, joins an already high-profile group of speakers for the Policy Makers Symposium, which takes place on Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET at the National Press Club. Additional speakers include U.S. Senators Mitt Romney (R-UT), Tammy Duckworth (D-IL), Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) and U.S. Representatives Garret Graves (R-LA), Scott Peters (D-CA), Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and Paul Tonko (D-NY).
Chatterjee served as FERC chairman from August 2017 to December 2017, and was again named chairman on October 24, 2018. Before his nomination to FERC by President Donald J. Trump, Chatterjee served as U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s energy policy advisor.
“With a long list of high-level speakers, our Policy Makers Symposium is quickly shaping up to be this fall’s most anticipated event involving clean energy,” said Heather Reams, NCEW chair. “We are excited to welcome Chairman Neil Chatterjee to this event as he shares the Commission’s work on clean energy and increasing America’s energy independence.”
Media is encouraged to attend the event and can RSVP here.
Now in its third year, NCEW brings together government officials, industry associations, businesses, non-profits, and advocates in the clean energy space for events in Washington, D.C. and across America to showcase how they are helping to make the clean energy sector stronger, and influence the discussion around responsible clean energy solutions that directly address America’s need for abundant, reliable forms of energy.
In addition to a number of prestigious speakers, the event will include these panels:
- Clean Energy at the Giga-Scale: Achieving Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reductions
- Clean Energy in the Mainstream
- Ideas to Action In Innovation: What Comes Next in Clean Energy?
- Technology Leadership: American-Made Solutions for the World
- Global Clean Energy Finance
