Charles leads Amazon’s public policy team covering energy, environmental, climate, and sustainability issues. Before joining Amazon in 2022, he led policy and advocacy for a Washington D.C.-based organization that supported bipartisan energy innovation and climate policy. For the decade before that, as a private sector consultant, he wrote energy development and forestry management strategies in over a dozen countries in Africa and Latin America, and supported U.S. water infrastructure finance programs. He has testified before the U.S. Congress twice.
