Alex Stroman oversees all U.S. federal and state engagement and directs a global team responsible for product stewardship and regulatory affairs as Vice President, Government Relations and Regulatory Affairs. He joined Albemarle in 2023 as Senior Director, State Government Relations. With a career spanning public affairs, political strategy, and corporate advocacy, Stroman was Director of State Government, Indigenous, and Community Relations at TC Energy, a midstream oil and gas pipeline company, and has held senior roles in government and campaigns at the local, state, and federal levels. From 2015 until 2017, he was a national spokesman for the Republican National Committee and worked closely with the Donald J. Trump for President campaign. He also served as the Deputy Communications Director for the 2017 U.S. Presidential Inauguration and previously held the role of Executive Director of the South Carolina Republican Party. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of South Carolina.
