Lawrence (“Larry”) Kast is the Senior Vice President of Global Government Relations for Solstice Advanced Materials. In this role, he drives the company’s legislative and regulatory strategy to enable sustainable growth and oversees political engagement as Chairman of the Solstice Political Action Committee.
Solstice Advanced Materials was created following its spinoff from Honeywell, forming a dedicated advanced materials company focused on specialty products and next generation refrigerant technologies. Through this transition, Larry has played a key leadership role in shaping the Company’s public policy approach at the intersection of energy policy and industrial innovation.
Before joining Solstice, Larry spent 20 years with Honeywell International, leading government relations across the Americas and serving as the global policy lead for Honeywell’s Building Technologies and Performance Materials and Technologies businesses. His work centered on environmental regulation, energy policy, emerging technologies, and major legislative issues affecting refrigerants, industrial manufacturing, and high-performance materials.
Earlier in his career, he was a principal at Freshman Kast, Inc., where he specialized in environmental and natural resource policy. For more than 15 years, he developed advocacy strategies on issues including water resources, endangered species, drinking water and clean water regulation, marine mammal policy, flood control, and environmental permitting. He advised a range of corporate, municipal, and nonprofit clients across several states.
Larry began his policy career after graduating from the University of Vermont with dean’s list honors in environmental studies. He worked with the Vermont Natural Resources Council and later served on the staff of the U.S. House Committee on Science, Space and Technology, analyzing issues involving the environment, energy, and science and technology. He subsequently joined the environmental consulting firm Jellinek, Schwartz, Connolly, and Freshman, Inc.
