Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb Recognizes Clean Energy Week 2024
INDIANAPOLIS – For the sixth year in a row, Governor Eric Holcomb (R-Ind.) has officially proclaimed September 23-27, 2024, as Clean Energy Week in Indiana. This proclamation was issued in conjunction with the 8th Annual National Clean Energy Week (NCEW).
“I commend Governor Holcomb for recognizing Clean Energy Week in Indiana,” said Heather Reams, chair of NCEW. “Advancing clean energy projects across the country is not only good environmental stewardship, but it is also economically prudent as it spurs the creation of jobs in local communities and strengthens state economies all while providing affordable, reliable clean energy to residents. Governor Holcomb understands this, and I am encouraged by Indiana’s potential to lead the rest of the nation in clean energy innovation and investment.”
“We must harness the power of Indiana entrepreneurs and small business to ensure government collaboration to assert Amercian energy leadership and dominance in the global marketplace and assure low-cost reliable energy here at home,” Governor Holcomb stated in the proclamation.
As Governor Holcomb’s proclamation highlights, the clean energy sector provides over 81,000 jobs in the Hoosier State. Additionally, Indiana has over 3,450 megawatts of installed wind capacity which greatly contributed to its renewable net generation.
Last year, Governor Holcomb was among the 37 governors and 49 municipalities that issued proclamations to recognize Clean Energy Week. Learn more about the state proclamations here.
