| WASHINGTON – With the 10th Annual National Clean Energy Week (NCEW) less than two weeks away, the leaders of New Hampshire, New Mexico, Arizona, Oregon and South Carolina are the next five to issue proclamations recognizing September 14-18, 2026, as Clean Energy Week. These proclamations were made by Govs. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.), Michelle Lujan Grisham (D-N.M.), Katie Hobbs (D-Ariz.), Tina Kotek (D-Ore.) and Henry McMaster (R-S.C.).
These leaders join Alaska, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Washington, Wisconsin and D.C., whose governors and mayor issued the first proclamations of the year.
“I want to thank Governors Ayotte, Lujan Grisham, Hobbs, Kotek and McMaster for helping us recognize our 10th Annual National Clean Energy Week,” said James Dozier, Chair of NCEW and President of Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions Forum. “From New England to the Southwest, these proclamations show that reliable, affordable, clean energy is a priority that crosses party lines and geography alike. As electricity demand continues to climb, we need every state, red and blue, aligned on our energy priorities.”
“Clean energy is an important part of New Hampshire’s energy future as it includes generation from renewable sources such as wind, solar, hydro, and geothermal sources, and also includes nuclear, natural gas, and carbon capture technologies,” Governor Ayotte stated in the proclamation.
“As of 2025, there were over 14,081 clean energy jobs in New Mexico, growing 2.5 times faster than the rest of the state’s economy, and New Mexico has attracted $10 billion in private clean energy investment since 2019,” Governor Lujan Grisham stated in the proclamation.
“Clean Energy Week encourages increased organizational and individual support of clean energy solutions to power our economy into the future,” Governor Hobbs stated in the proclamation.
“Oregon believes in clean, affordable, and readily abundant forms of energy for all; and Clean energy is a crucial piece of America’s energy future,” Governor Kotek stated in the proclamation.
“Across South Carolina, clean and readily abundant forms of energy are powering more homes and businesses than ever before; and clean energy, including generation from renewable sources such as wind, solar, and hydro sources as well as nuclear, natural gas, and energy storage is part of our country’s energy future,” Governor McMaster stated in the proclamation.
Launched in 2017, National Clean Energy Week continues to serve as a bipartisan platform for advancing clean energy solutions. This year’s events will feature our flagship Policymakers Symposium, a free, two-day event in Washington, D.C. and streamed online, featuring elected officials, industry leaders and advocates working together to build a cleaner, more resilient energy future.
